MHC Libraries is currently in the process of migrating to OCLC WorldShare ILS system. This means leaving a long-term partnership with the University of Lethbridge; however, the new system will allow MHC to streamline workflows and explore new initiatives.

MHC is participating in the ILAAP pilot project by using the assessment tool in library information literacy classes. The library continues to provide a number of popular services and activities including individual student appointments, One Community One Card (reciprocal borrowing with Shortgrass Library System), iPads for loan, a giant Scrabble board, draws for Good Food Box Day, and events like Shakespeare in the Library, Human Library, and story time for daycare children.

Shared Internship Program Update

The Shared Internship Program in Medicine Hat is in its second year, with intern Librarian Jordan DeSousa taking on a number of responsibilities across the Medicine Hat College (MHC) Library, Shortgrass Library System (SLS), and the Medicine Hat Public Library (MHPL).
