AAAL will be offering one professional development award of $400 to support attendance at the Stronger Together Conference October 19-21, 2026 in Edmonton.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until end of day, October 2, 2026.
Application Criteria:
- The applicant’s institution or student group must be an AAAL member, and the applicant must work in a library or learning commons area, or studying library sciences (LITs, MLIS, etc.).
- Priority will be given to first-time attendees, those presenting at Stronger Together, and those who may have less/no access to PD funds.
- Applicants who have received funding from AAAL in the past two years will not be eligible to apply.
- AAAL Executive members are not eligible to apply but sub-committee members are eligible and welcome to apply.
The Award:
- Funds for the Stronger Together registration fee ($400)
Application Process:
The AAAL PD Award: Stronger Together application form is open. Applicants should be prepared to include:
- Information about their current professional development funding support
- Whether or not other funding has been received from AAAL in the past 2 years
- Whether or not the applicant will be presenting at the Stronger Together conference.
- Whether or not the applicant is a first time attendee to Stronger Together.
- For students, proof of enrollment in an accredited Master of Library and Information Studies or Library Information Technology program is required.
Award Process:
- All eligible submissions received by the deadline will be considered.
- Notification of the award will be given by October 9, 2026
- Funding will be provided as reimbursement for the actual registration cost.
- The AAAL Treasurer will advise on the reimbursement process. Payment will be via e-transfer.
