RSVP AAAL Fall Meeting – NorQuest College – Deadline Nov. 6th

Library staff from all member institutions are invited to join us for the Alberta Association of Academic Libraries 2016 Spring Annual General Meeting at NorQuest College on Thursday, November 16.

Please register by Monday, November 6! Space is limited, so register early.

Thanks to the hard work of AAAL Committees and Executive members, we have a busy day of networking and learning planned, including our AAAL business meeting in the morning, and presentations in the afternoon. An agenda will be sent out soon; however, we are excited to have the opportunity to see NorQuest’s new library during our lunch, and to have Dr. Jason Harley (Educational Psychology, University of Alberta) joining us after lunch to provide the day’s keynote discussing Fake News from a psychological perspective and how that can help us in our work with students. Lunch, as always, will be provided by the AAAL.

We invite you to submit a proposal for a 20-minute talk (this includes time for questions) on how your staff, your libraries and/or your constituents engage with information.  What new program, service or space are you and your library providing to your user community?  What new technologies or tools are you using to improve how you, your library, or your users get things done?  Consider submitting your own proposal or encouraging a colleague to submit a proposal.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in Edmonton in November.
