The Annual Report from GPRC Library highlights our accomplishments and activities in numbers, charts, and photos. It focusses on how we serve the academic needs of our learners as we begin to plan for the upcoming year. GPRC is on the path of becoming a degree granting institute. In preparation for this, we also conducted a self-study which will become part of GPRC’s documentation to be submitted to CAQC. The Library is a bridge between academics and student services. We see the library as the heart of GPRC and the hub for student learning.

Access Conference: Call for Reviewers
Peer reviewers will be selected by the Program Committee and will ideally include a variety of individuals across disciplines including Access old-timers and newbies alike. You do not need to be attending the conference to volunteer as a peer reviewer.
The peer review process is anonymous for both authors and reviewers. Those who have submitted Access Conference session proposals are welcome and encouraged to become peer reviewers as well. You won’t receive your own proposal to review. Please note that the peer reviewing activity will take place mid-May to mid-June. Proposals are a maximum of 250 words so we expect each review to take no more than 30 minutes. Each reviewer could be assigned up to 2-3 proposals to review depending on the number of submissions.
To submit your interest in reviewing, please fill out this form with your contact information, a sentence or two on why you’d like to review for Access 2019 and some keywords on topics you’d be comfortable reviewing. If you submitted a proposal and indicated on the registration screen you’d like to review, you’re already signed up!
Still time to register for the AAAL Spring Meeting!
This is a reminder that Friday at 4 p.m. is the deadline to register for the Alberta Association of Academic Libraries’ Spring 2019 Meeting. We have twelve spots remaining!
Library staff from all member institutions are invited to join us at Olds College on Friday, May 10th. We are very excited to be offering a workshop on using design thinking to enhance user experience with University of Alberta librarian, Céline Gareau-Brennan. Following the workshop and a delicious BBQ lunch, the afternoon is filled with interesting lightning talks on a wide variety of topics. The full meeting package with agenda and session descriptions can be found on the AAAL website.
We hope to see you there!
